WHY AND WHEN DID YOU START BODYBUILDING AND MODELLING?

I wasn’t very sporty as a kid. I can’t do anything with balls, I still swim like a cat, and I’m a slow runner. Growing up, I was so skinny I couldn’t stand seeing myself in the mirror. When I was 17 my mom and I decided to buy our very first gym membership. All I wanted was legs. As a teen, I never wore high heels since that made my legs even skinnier. No shorts, no skirts. The leg press was my savior. I did legs three days a week and nothing else for years.

I had worked as a glamour model and was on 30 different magazine covers, but there was still never any boom. In 2009 I met my husband and he became my trainer, it was so satisfying to see the change in my body. A part of my job was to stay in shape. I loved working it and it led me to become a total gym rat. As my body changed, the fitness magazines started to open up their eyes.

Although I didn’t start working out to step in stage I gave it a shot and competed in the NPC bikini competition. It was such a thrill to step on stage for the first time. I really loved it – and I still love it to step on stage!

HOW DOES YOUR WORKOUT-PLAN LOOK LIKE?

I´ve had so many routines but I just can´t follow them. So I do what I want to for the day. The golden rule is to train each muscle at least ones per week. And I am a big fan of cardio as well. I just love to sweat like a maniac. So I do whatever I feel like: Stair Master, Rollerblading around South Beach Miami or Spinning classes. I keep the intensity high and make sure that I am always pushing my hardest.

I do cardio in the morning for 45 minutes and weights every evening. I do all muscle groups at least once per week, but I focus mostly on glutes and abs, which I train twice a week.

WHAT SUPPS DO YOU TAKE ON A DAILY BASIS?

I just take supplements to support my daily diet. However I have to say that a propper diet and healthy food is way more important than supplements.

I mainly use whey protein and some amino acids. Sometimes I also have a workout-booster before my training.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AND WHAT ARE YOUR DREAMS?

I want to be a part of changing the female ideal body worldwide from unhealthy skinny to healthy and fit. My goal is to motivate as many people as possible to live a healthy lifestyle and to make the best out of themselves. Not everyone should become a fitness freak or a professional athlete but everyone should live a healthy lifestyle. It makes life easier and the body will appreciate it.

So I want to travel, tell my story and motivate people. And at the same time I have to say meeting fitness fans all over the world is the best. It’s just awesome to see that there are so many people having the same interests and goals. I always try to motivate the people and meeting all these people is actually a big motivation for me.

At the moment I’m also working on some e-books and fitness apps to help others achieve their goals. A lot of people ask me for diet and workout plans. A lot of people ask for mine, but I usually don’t give them my program. The reason why is that we are all so different. Something that might be perfect for my body might not be appropriate for someone else. I really just want to inspire everyone to be their own best self.

WHO IS YOUR FITNESS/ BODYBUILDING IDOL?

I don´t have any inspiration really from other athletes. What inspires me and my biggest motivation are my fans. Something I just dreamt about a few years back, and now I have them. And they support me! God, that´s big…

WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION?

My childhood was not easy. My mom and I didn’t have much. Our neighbors sometimes gave us sandwiches so we wouldn’t starve to death. Luckily we had the confidence and determination to get out of that situation. I know where I come from and that motivates me every day. From the fitness point of view I would say the mirror is my motivation. There’s nothing more motivating than when you find a new vein! Am I crazy? Probably, but it’s true! Progress is what motivates me to keep pushing harder and not give up. And of course my fans are a huge motivation. Especially having so many female fans is extremely motivating.

  • Don’t train because you have to. Find passion and love for your training.
  • Persistence brings progress!
  • Don’t copy anyone. Just do your thing. No copies have ever reached the top
